Re: Sarah Crawford (Born 1742 – Died 12-21-1823). She was most likely from Eastern PA. Sarah married Anthony Noble and they had a daughter, Sarah Noble (B. 1770). Sarah Noble married John Clopper and they had a son, John Crawford Clopper (B. 9-27-1793 Died: 9-28-1825 in Courtland, Alabama). John Crawford Clopper married Anna Marie Kauck (B. 7-10-1776 Phila.) in Philadelphia on Apr. 18, 1816.
Does any of this sound familiar?? I have not been able to find a single thing on Sarah Crawford and Anthony Noble (who their parents were, etc. and where they were actually born). I have looked at the LDS site and of course Ancestry, Rootsweb, etc.
Any ideas?? Thanks, Marianne
Hi Marianne,
Your dates certainly coincide with my Crawfords. Unfortunately, this is a common (and even prominent) name for the Scots-Irish in Pennsylvania, and our family moved West to Westmoreland and Indiana Counties before settling in Allegheny. I’ll be watching for your names and dates as I do further research. Please stay in touch and share any new findings. Thanks for your interest,
Larry
