New Sweden Plaque: Philadelphia

New Sweden was called “Colony-on-the-Delaware” and was established along the river between Philadelphia and Wilmington, DE, in 1638. Peter Rambo and Peter Cock are listed near the bottom of this memorial. A world power at the time, the Swedes commanded 7 forts and founded 19 permanent settlements in America.
