      Hi Patsy,
A quick check of your names has revealed nothing, but hope you will get a response from our readers with this posting. I’ll be revisiting my oldest Shaffers soon, beginning with Lt. Henry whose ancestors were supposedly “Shavers” from Maryland. I’ll pass along anything I find. Thanks for your interest.
      Larry

Nice site. I’m heading to Washington County, Maryland and Somerset, Pennsylvania as well next week, and curious if you know of any must see places concerning the Shaver/Shafer family. I am pretty well versed on the Ankeny side, but am looking to see if you might know of any places regarding George (d. 1796). Also, I will be seeing Yost Miller’s grave (and brother Jeremiah too). I have the Yost Miller book, unfortunately not the Chester L. Shaver Shaver family book. Anyway, just throwing that out there. Any response is most appreciated.
    Sincerely,

      Matthew,
I’m e-mailing separately about the coming holiday weekend and hope we can get together. “Long” story short, I can show you the graves of Yost and Jeremiah Miller and Lt. Henry Shaffer, but I don’t have much on our Shaffers. Here’s hoping a reader can put us in touch with the Shaffer book. Regards,
      Larry
