The Presbyterian church, established in 1826, was relocated east in 1974.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>3. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Marshall-Island-North-Park\/113079058829246\">Marshall Island<\/a><\/b>, old mill pond &#8211; both Ralph Pearce (1917-2002) and son Larry proposed to their wives on the narrow bridge leading to this nature preserve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>4. <a href=\"https:\/\/e-gen.info\/?page_id=777\">Pearce Family homestead &amp; mill (1820-1917) <\/a><\/b>&#8211; birthplace of three generations of Pearces, including Ralph, now Administration Building for the park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>5. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.county.allegheny.pa.us\/parks\/north-park\/pearce.aspx\">Pearce Grove<\/a><\/b> &#8211; on original Pearce farm property, just below the Administration Building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>6. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.county.allegheny.pa.us\/parks\/north-park\/school-house.aspx\">School House Grove<\/a><\/b> &#8211; on the foundation of one-room Walters School where many of the Pearces attended elementary school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>7. <a href=\"https:\/\/e-gen.info\/?page_id=3691\">Flagstaff Hill <\/a><\/b>&#8211; at the base of which sits Walters School site &amp; beyond which is Guyton Cemetery, where Henry and Sarah are believed to be buried.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>8. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.county.allegheny.pa.us\/parks\/north-park\/moon.aspx\">Moon Grove<\/a><\/b> &#8211; site of Moon family homestead &amp; farm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>9. <a href=\"https:\/\/e-gen.info\/?page_id=709\">Henry Moon Tavern &amp; Inn<\/a><\/b>, Babcock Blvd. &#8211; foundation of what is believed to be an original area settlement established by our patriarch. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>10. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/AlleghenyCountyMemorialPark\/about\/?ref=page_internal\">Allegheny County Memorial Park<\/a><\/strong>, Duncan Ave. &#8211; Established in 1929, this bucolic 100-acre site contains the final resting places of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/AlleghenyCountyMemorialPark\/about\/?ref=page_internal\">Pearces<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/e-gen.info\/?page_id=3570\">Hills<\/a>, and others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>11. <a href=\"https:\/\/e-gen.info\/?page_id=3570\">Joseph &amp; Alice Moon Hill Homestead<\/a><\/b>, Babcock Blvd. &#8211; One of four farms believed to have been provided by Capt. John Dixon Hill to his sons after the Civil War.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>* This tour, whether real or virtual, is designed to <strong>begin at the corner of Rt. 910 &amp; Pearce Mill Road<\/strong> and travel <strong>EITHER<\/strong> east then south on Babcock to the Park <strong>OR<\/strong>\u00a0south along Pearce Mill Road, stopping at the various sites before completing the circle.
