Emigration: between 1729 & 1733 (uncertain) “to a bend of the Conodogwinet in what is now Cumberland County.”<\/p>\n

Property: Newton tax records of 1764 show James Jack, Sr., our Mary Jane’s father-in-law, conveying land to John Young. In 1779, he declared 2 horses (90), 2 cows (18), and property (800) totaling a value of 908. Son or Uncle Patrick Jack declared 1 horse and 1 cow for 54. It’s unclear what the “rates” and monetary units were at that time.<\/p>\n
