      *\u00a0Our Thomas’ Will,<\/a> written in 1795, refers to Mary as “my now wife.” Could this Thomas have had a father Thomas, Sr.? The Will mentions a “Thomas, the Elder,” but was this his aged father or\u00a0 could this have been a title for perhaps a cousin from their Baptist tradition. The birth dates of the first children, including Ambrose, seem more in line with this “Two Thomas” theory.<\/p>\n
